It's a simple idea really. Have fun skateboarding. That's it. There's nothing else to think about. It's not a marketing gimmick. It's not our way to sell a billion skateboard decks. It is what it is. We don't make skateboards for the competitive, jock skaters, we make good skateboards for the rest of us. We make skateboards for the skaters that have fun skateboarding!
We're going to be honest with you guys because we think you deserve it. Pretty much every skateboard deck on the wall of your local skateshop is made from 4 or 5 manufacturers. Some are made in China, some are made in Mexico. A very limited few are still hand made right here in the birthplace of skateboarding, the USA.
Havefun skateboards are 100% hand made in the USA by skateboarders at a skateboard plant about 100 miles from the source of the best maple in the world, the Great Lakes Region. Most skateboard companies get their wood from this area to tell you the truth, unless they are made overseas. Sometimes the overseas companies get their wood from local forests in China. Their wood sucks. Ours rules.
We are of a different breed here at Havefun. We don't care about contest placings or having the ender part in the latest video. We are just some dudes that love to skateboard and want to let the world know about it.
We aren't into creating marketing gimmicks like carbon inserts in our boards. If you want to buy one of those boards, be our guest. We think it's a cool idea. But we know 100% maple is the best way to make a skateboard.
